An estimated 20 million people are now said to be affected by the recent floods, according to official Government figures from Pakistan. Hundreds and thousands of people have been made homeless. Many have no shelter at all and some families have been forced to set up temporary tents along roadsides for shelter. Communities are in desperate need of clean water, food, latrines and health care.

At least 1,600 people have died and thousands are seriously ill.  As outbreaks of waterborne diseases look imminent, the death toll could rise.  The World Health Organisation (WHO) already indicate a significant rise in the number of cases of acute watery diarrhoea, skin infections and malaria.

Every Wednesday, a Sisters Qur'an Tafseer class take place in the morning. Every Friday evening, a tajweed class take place, where Sisters can learn the art of pronunciation. The tajweed class will be conducted in English.
